  • Each ProTurn® consumable plays a key part in prone positioning, making it easier for caregivers to turn patients from supine to prone positions and return them to recovery surfaces. What’s more, these ProTurn® solutions can make drastic cuts to the cost of each procedure. The ProTurn® pack contains:
    1. A blue, anti-slip, latex-free, polyurethane ProTurn® Mat. You can position this hard-wearing mat underneath your spinal surface either way up to support a patient. The ProTurn® mat works with a variety of spinal surfaces, from Montreal Mattresses and Wilson Frames to D Rings and pillows. You can then secure the ProTurn® slides to the mat before surgery. You can also attach the ProTurn® straps to facilitate the return roll back to the recovery surface after surgery.
    2. A high-frequency, welded, nylon ProTurn® Pad. These polyurethane-coated pads provide essential support and comfort for patients during transitions on and off the table. Not only do the pads bridge gaps between beds/trolleys and operating surfaces, but they also protect patients’ arm and lines before, during and after surgery.
    3. Three orange, wipeclean ProTurn® Extension Straps. These welded, plastic straps ensure unrivalled strength and ultimate pliability. The straps eliminate the need for carers to reach over the patient or perform ‘flip and catch’ manoeuvres, which can result in staff musculoskeletal injuries.
    4. A handy Storage Bag to transport all ProTurn® consumables and keep these safe together.
These fully welded proning tools prevent contamination and are easy to clean with your approved wipes or solutions.
    • Designed for repositioning, turning, and transferring patients, and moving them up and down in the bed
    • A superb range of washable flat slide sheets with technically advanced fibres and fabrics
    • Slides extremely well on both sides, making it easy for the staff to move patient
    • Effortless insertion under patient and easy to remove
    • Reduces strain and risk of back injury to the carer
    • Comfortable and safer experience for patient
  • The slippery slide sheets allow health professionals to effortlessly manoeuvre patients/clients into a virtually endless list of positions so that they can remain comfortable at all times. Whether patients are using a bed or a trolley, health professionals can use the glide sheets to turn patients into comfortable positions and transfer them from one surface to another. The flat slide sheet handles make patient repositioning even easier, allowing users a wide range of motion. Carers can use the handles to assist patients as they sit forward in bed and safely transfer patients between surfaces. Plus, the glide sheet’s waterproof barrier protects the mattress against spills and accidents, making for easy cleaning. The smart slide sheets are suitable for washing at 40–74°C and low-temperature tumble drying. Never use bleach to clean this product.
  • When caregivers need to turn patients from supine to prone positions and vice versa, they can simply insert one of these slide sheets beneath the patient and turn them in a controlled manner. This way, practitioners no longer need to use the outdated ‘flip and catch’ method. The slippery material makes prone positioning easier than ever, both for patients and caregivers. Not only do these slide sheets reduce the need for caregivers to over-reach or over-lean during proning, but the slide sheets also feature integral, super-soft pockets. These pockets hold wipeclean pads, which protect patients’ arms and preventing entrapment during prone positioning. Many of the UK’s theatre staff, surgeons and anaesthetists recommend the slide sheets, the main component in our patient proning solution – the ProTurn® system. The sheets have been specifically designed for proning in the theatre environment. After use, you can simply dispose of these patient-specific slide sheets to improve infection control and step up patient throughput.
  • Until now, carers who position patients for surgery have had to lift their patients with outstretched arms while the surgeon positioned them. But lifting a patient this way can cause a caregiver to injure themselves. The good news is that caregivers don’t need to use this ‘flip and catch’ method when positioning patients in theatres anymore. The ProTurn® Glide Sheet’s forward-thinking design offers a new solution. Carers can now spread two split slide sheets over the support surface and attach these sheets to the ProTurn® Mat beneath. The split slide sheets allow the patient to settle into the space in the support and enable caregivers to manoeuvre the patient with ease and precision. Whether the caregiver is repositioning the patient in an upwards, downwards or side-to-side motion, prone positioning is now easier than ever before. Once the surgery is complete, caregivers can also place the glide sheets under the ProTurn® sheet itself for final positioning and recovery. The slide sheets use specialist material to uphold patient comfort during both of these processes. After use, caregivers can simply remove the proning glide sheet for laundry.

  • The ProTurn® Surgical Pack allows health professionals to turn and transfer patients for supine to prone procedures with ease. The ProTurn® Surgical Pack contains all the equipment you need to turn a patient from a bed/trolley into a prone position on an operating table. The Patient-Specific Proturn® Sheet and pair of Patient-Specific Proturn® Slides cover the prone surface and allow staff to achieve precise positioning for the surgeon. Once in the anaesthetic room, the patient lies on the Patient-Specific Proturn® Sheet. The medical professional can then turn them from supine to prone on the operating surface. The Patient-Specific Proturn® Sheet is manufactured from a quilted non-woven fabric, which is soft and comfortable for patients and suitable for all up to 178kg (28 stone). The sheet has an integral pocket for a Proturn® Pad on one side, which protects the patient’s arm during supine or prone positioning. Meanwhile, the medical professional can use the strong webbing handles along the opposite side of the sheet to attach the long straps and help the patient turn. The Patient-Specific Proturn® Sheet is universal, meaning that the patient can lie on either side of the sheet during a transfer. Just make sure that you place the integral pocket on the side that will be closest to the operating surface. Both the Patient-Specific Proturn® Sheet and the Patient-Specific Proturn® Slides are latex-free and can be reused for post-operative repositioning. You should then dispose of the sheet and slides.
  • These patient-specific transfer belts make it possible for patients to sit, stand and walk with the assistance of a single carer. Whether patients need support at home, in hospital or in care settings, a supportive transfer belt makes getting from a to b achievable. Hospital Direct manufactures these comfortable transfer belts in its Shropshire premises, combining an anti-slip inner lining with breathable materials and padding to ensure patient comfort. This way, patients can feel secure while regaining their mobility. The design also features ergonomic handles that enable caregivers to hold the client/patient close without having to grab their clothes. The handles help carers to maintain a safe posture while supporting patients. After use, carers can dispose of these single-use belts to reduce cross-infection in high-risk areas. Patient-specific handling belts also avoid laundry losses, which are common in medical settings.
