Gregory Brennan Snr, a laboratory assistant in Trinity College Dublin and Pat Brennan, a laboratory glassware salesperson came together to incorporate P.J. Brennan & Co Limited focused on selling scientific products to laboratories in Ireland.

Brennan & Co sourced, sold and installed the first Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer in Ireland from UK manufacturer Unicam.

Brennan & Co sourced, sold and installed the first Peptide and DNA sequencers in the country to UCC.

Keeping Brennan & Co at the Heart of Innovation, our product managers and service engineers were critical to the development of the first fully validated automated tablet dissolution systems in the world. It was created for a pharmaceutical manufacturing customer based in Ireland. They worked closely and tirelessly with 3 separate channel partner OEM’s to design, test, install and validate the different systems to ensure compliance within this highly regulated field for the customer.

Information Systems & Instrument Supplies Limited was incorporated to supply a range of products to the Food Diagnostics, Life Sciences and Acute Care Blood Grouping marketplaces in Ireland. The company was based in Bray until its integration with Brennan & Co in 2011.

Scientific Medical Clinical Limited, now Brennan & Co NI, joined the Group and allowed us to provide All Island support to our partners.

Gregory Brennan Snr. retired as Managing Director, having led the Group since its incorporation in 1967. His 3 sons, Gregory Jnr, Alan and Tyrone purchased the company from their father with Gregory Jnr. taking the reigns as Managing Director and implementing a new management team and Quality Management System.

Information Systems & Instrument Supplies Limited merges with Brennan & Co.

Board of Directors formed and 4 year Strategic Growth plan agreed.

We implemented a new Sales Process, Management Team and Divisional Structure in order to build the foundations for our Growth strategy.

SVS Industrial Supplies Limited, now Brennan & Co SVS, joined the Group in September 2018. As a market leading supplier to the Industrial sector, focusing on Pharmaceutical, Medical Device and Electronic Manufacturers, this acquisition marked a major strategic development for The Brennan & Co Group and increased turnover to in excess of €30million per annum.

The Pharmacy Division within The Brennan & Co Group was established focusing on Pharmacy automation products and related software combined with front of counter offerings such as compression therapy, first aid, healthcare, medication aids and hair care products.

The Brennan & Co Group won the Sandyford Business District Scale Up Award which recognised our achievements in the categories of Growth, Marketing, Sustainability and Team Development.

The Brennan & Co Group became a key partner to the HSE in maintaining the COVID-19 testing and tracing service, receiving recognition from the CEO of the HSE in this regard.

Brennan & Co receives the awards for outstanding performance from Philips, contributing to the improvement of patient care throughout Ireland with best in class innovative technology.

The Brennan & Co Group structure was Formalised which is an umbrella Group for our three Group companies.
