Take A Look At Endomag’s, Magseed® and Magtrace® Lymphatic Tracers

Brennan & Co have proudly supported the expansion and distribution of the Endomag portfolio into the Irish market, since being appointed its exclusive partner in 2023. Brennan & Co Ltd has supported the clinical use of the Magseed marker and Magtrace lymphatic tracer within the NHS in Northern Ireland and to the HSE, across theatres, radiology and Breast Check.

The Magtrace, magseed and Sentimag Magnetic Localisation System allows doctors to assess whether breast cancer has spread to patients lymph nodes. Unlike older solutions Magtrace and Sentimag are not radioactive and have not been determined to carry the risk of an allergic reaction to blue dye, meaning the solution is much safer for patients.

Magseed

The Magseed is a small seed used for cancer localisation.  It promotes seamless operating room (OR) scheduling, accurate lesion localisation and patient satisfaction.

Key benefits

  • Organise the lesion localisation procedure to suit your needs.
  • Can be placed 30 days in advance – better for patients, better for the clinical workflow.
  • Greatly improved OR and radiology scheduling.
  • 360-degree sensing and distance calculation for the best oncoplastic approach.
  • Patient-centric approach: no radioactivity, reduced stress, minimal invasiveness
  • Sentimag® and Magseed® are FDA-cleared and CE-marked for lesion localisation.

Magtrace

Magtrace is a lymphatic mapping agent used in breast cancer staging a composed of a magnetic liquid that is injected into breast tissue and flows to the SLN(s).

Key Benefits

  • Composed of iron oxide which naturally occurs in the body meaning it is safer than traditional methods such as blue dye and radioactive isotope.
  • 99% lymph node detection rate.
  • The injection process is short and relatively painless.
  • Magtrace can also be injected up to 30 days before surgery, whereas the radioactive tracers can be
given no more than 24 hours before the sentinel lymph node biopsy procedure.

Sentimag

Sentimag® Magnetic Localization System is indicated to assist in localizing lymph nodes draining a tumor site, as part of a sentinel lymph node biopsy procedure, in patients with breast cancer undergoing a mastectomy

Key Benefits

  • The Sentimag system can be used without the need for nuclear medicine safety procedures and facilities, due to magnetic mechanism of action.
